(Nuclear Engineering Research Division) is a collaboration of industry-university organizations, which systematizes professional personnel that is relevant to nuclear engineering in the country. The Division is composed of about fifty university professor nationwide and about forty specialists along with experts from research institutes and the industry Division ensures safety in both the design and operation of the NPP(Nuclear power plant) and also focuses on gainning the opinions of both local and foregin experts for the continued development of original high technology in the nuclear industry. The goas of Division are based on the exchanging of technology and scientific information within the nuclear industry. the research areas are includes for: 1) the analysis of nuclear and thermal-hydraulic design margin of the reactor; 2) the thermal-hydraulic experimentes on the normal and transient conditions; 3) the safety analysis on normal and transient conditions; 4) the fundamental research relevant to waste management; 5) the structural analysis about design; 6) the construction of elementary facilities in the NPP; and 7) the fundamental research for capability enhancement of the system materials in the NPP.
